Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer FREE Invisalign consultations?

Yes, absolutely. Make an appointment today! Each invisalign treatment is unique. Come see me and we can discuss the treatment that is tailored to your needs and expectations. I will answer all the questions you may have!

What is Invisalign treatment?

Invisalign treatment is a way to striagthen your teeth gradually by wearing a series of clear, removable aligners. Each aligner is also thin and specially made to fit snugly over your teeth, making them virtually invisible.

What are Invisalign aligners made of?

They are made of flexible thermoplastic material, which is FDA-approved and does not contain any BPA, BPS, latex, or gluten.

How does Invisalign straighten teeth?

Each Invisalign aligner is designed to apply the right amount of force at the right time on your teeth based on your tailored treatement plan. Each set of aligner is different from another slightly. By wearing a series of aligners, your teeth will gradually move to the desired position and give you a nice smile at the end of the whole treatment.

How is Invisalign different from wearing braces?

Different than traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible and people around you may not even notice you are wearing them. You can remove them to eat and drink and to brush and floss. There are also no metal brackets or wires that could irritate your mouth.

Can I take my aligners off whenever I need to?

Yes, you can remove your aligners when you eat, chew gum, drink, brush, and floss your teeth. The only drink that you can keep your aligners in your mouth is when you are drinking water!

Just rememeber to wear your aligners as much as possible, at least 20-22 hours a day, to get the best results! Invisalign only works if you wear them!

How do I take care of the aligners?

It is important to brush your teeth and rinse the aligners after every meal, before placing your Invisalign aligners back in your mouth.
At night, you can brush them with a toothbrush and a little bit of toothpaste, then rinse them in lukewarm water. Never use hot water on your aligners because it could permanently warp the plastic.

What are the complications from wearing Invisalign aligners?

Invisalign works by applying constant gentle force to your teeth, so you will feel temporary discomfort for the first few days of wearing a new set of aligners.
Having the aligners in your mouth is a whole new experience, so at the beginning, some people may have a slight lisp as your tongue is getting used to it in your mouth. Most people will get used to it and will speak normally again after 2-3 weeks.

What happens after my Invisalign treatment?

Anyone who has completed orthodontic treatement, whether Invisalign or traditional braces, should use a retainer to prevent teeth from gradually shifting out of alignment. After the first 2 months of wearing them full time, you will only need to wear the retainer at night.

Will my insurance cover Invisalign treatment?

Dental insurance plan covers Invisalign treatment the same way it covers traditional braces. After the FREE consultation appointment, our office will help you to find out how much does your insurance plan cover so there will be no surprises.

What payment options are available?

At Dentistry On Corby, we offer flexible and affordable monthly payment plan, which allows you to make small pre-authorized credit card or bank payments, rather than all at once.
